One of my favorite bands in high school was Alexisonfire. Pronounced “Alexis on fire”, this “post-hardcore” (whatever that means) band hails from chilly Ontario, Canada. I absolutely love the hard-driving nature of their music.
Their four albums, “Alexisonfire”, “Watch Out!”, “Crisis”, and “Old Crows/Young Cardinals” are each masterpieces from start to finish. If I had to name the 5 most talented bands in the history of music, Alexisonfire would definitely be in that list. No bands rock harder than Alexisonfire, Chevelle, and Thrice.

Given a million years, I would never have guessed that the band Beirut originated in Sante Fe, New Mexico. My first guess would have been a country in Eastern Europe.
